“Deny” is one of the most emotionally charged releases we’ve heard this year, from the singer/producer Nolle. We are soul grateful that we are now getting the honor of bringing this music to your attention.
Deny is a song about the ups & downs of denying your true love. Nolle sings with such depth and soul. Bedroom / Lo-fi Pop, Slowcore, and Indie Rock listeners will appreciate the emo-vibe of ‘Deny.” The slow tempo and heavy use of reverb give a spacey acoustic atmosphere that hypnotizes you. Close your eyes and get lost in Nolle’s world of denied feelings and love through her eyes.
Make sure to not skip through it! We know for sure, that hard work went into this relatable release! Everything right down to each measure of the song has the potential to get stuck in your head. It has a hypnotic and chilling tone to the musical elements that really sit deeply in your soul.
The lyrics speak to you from the perspective of a young love that desires secrecy and distance due to fear. This song will put you in a mood that takes you to another universe. Nolle’s pitch is tuned to perfection as it blends effortlessly with the dynamics of her instrumentation. The beat flows through you in a harmonic rhythm that really aligns with the heartbeat. The texture of this track is met with such musical precision.
“I use to think about you when I’m alone. But I’ll never tell a soul. I said I love you from afar…”
Noelle – Deny
With mysterious synth production, calming vocals, and newly introduced guitar elements; Nolle expresses a profound understanding of her emotions in her songwriting beyond her years. Nicole Hylton (Nolle) is a 20-year-old all-around creative from Calgary, AB Canada who found her passion for music the day she was born into a new generation of family musicians. She also writes and produces all of her own projects. Now residing in Vancouver, BC Canada where she is majoring in Music Management, Nicole continues to push the boundaries by beginning to make a name for herself as a much-needed strong female voice in a male-dominated industry.
