Artist Bio
Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, Tim Lyre is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist that’s been paving a lane with his genre-bending sound. Playing a monumental role in Nigeria’s alté renaissance, it was only a matter of time he would venture out into the vibrant world of music. Growing up in a musical household, Lyre studied classical music from the youthful age of 10; learning how to play the piano and read music, it wasn’t until he got older when he was exposed to sounds including highlife, afrobeats, jazz, R&B, neo-soul, gospel, and more, that he began exploring his own wave.
“Hubris” is something different coming from Tim Lyre x Lex Amor‘s corner, fusing together a catchy soundscape with theatrical story-telling origins and a blissfully soulful RnB vocal – the result is something that feels like rhyme and ultimately paves the way for a more creative, sensitive, and immersive RnB of tomorrow’s afro-soul.
