Yannique Barker, writer, artist, producer, director, and entertainment executive, p/k/a “YNIQ,” (an abbreviation for his name “Yannique”) started creating music when he was 16. Starting with free-styling over hip-hop instrumentals, he quickly learned how to assemble beats and convert his handwritten notes into songs. He and his parents later relocated to Miami after he transferred from the University of Southern California’s (USC) School of Film and Cinematography to the University of Miami, where he graduated with degrees in Communications and Psychology.
The tune “Rich Forever” employs a genuine calm feel alongside a single vocal lead and minor echoes of voice for added impact, with essential yet melodic background and intense pace.
The vocal tone, the sharp delivery, the dynamic flow, and the similarly sharp, smart arrangement of the bars all contribute to the weight of YNIQ’s project.
In both sound and lyrics, YNIQ’s voice is becoming increasingly distinct from the rest of the artist’s repertoire. In addition to being familiar and appealing, it authentically conveyed the song’s atmosphere, presented honesty, and revealed exposure. All while weaving through a series of flows that continually return to the creative and melodically captivating hook.
