TRP.P (pronounced “TRIP-ee”) are a Toronto duo, breaking barriers in the Hip-Hop/R&B scene. Composed of Truss (producer, singer/songwriter) and Phoenix Pagliacci (singer/songwriter), the dynamic duo met in 2015 and have been collaborating in music and life ever since. In 2017, they released their self-titled debut EP, followed with their sophomore release “2TRP.P” in 2019. Whether in the studio or on the stage, TRP.P is determined to connect with others through their songwriting. Currently, TRP.P is working on their second full-length album, which is slated for June 2022. The release will be followed by a summer tour.
Beautifully crafted, with a longer-form melody than most pop songs, fusing that RnB meander with a more comforting Lo-fi structure for something that essentially delivers the best of both worlds.
As a result of the overall mood shift of Way I Like, the audience’s spirits are lifted as a result. It is only a brief moment, but the swagger and empowerment of the lyrical passages are swiftly restored, and we begin to connect with the bold and beautiful undertones that run throughout this song.
“Way I Like” sheds new light on the artist, striking a chord with spectators because of its transparency, fragility, purity, and the powerful artistic thread that runs through the work. Perfect for a night out in the city and my personal favorite from the TRP.P line.
Silky and sticky vocals direct with breathy harmonies and multiple layers of delicacy on TRP.P’s uniquely winding, self-aware new soulful single Way I Like.
The clatter of the beat and the conflicting tap build a vastly attainable pop-like mood from the start, with a quite nostalgic vibe. Weave in these deep verses, passionately and cleanly blended, and things will gradually but steadily shift towards totally fresh realms.
Way I Like introduces the skillfully meandering vocal harmonies of TRP.P in a way that feels acquainted yet also indicative of an artist ready to pave their own way, with a likable beat that injects a level of weight and easily recognizable styling into the track.
