Check it out here. Mannen (Skull Edit) is a brand new dancehall track from PAPA Sound & Jamkid: don’t miss out! #ArtistSpotlight

Mannen’s created on the same riddim (instrumental) as One Bagga Shh!. It’s an energetic dance song with flavors from dancehall, Afropop and reggae. The song is performed by Jamkid from Rågsved, Stockholm. Jamkid got the name from his parents who saw that Jombo (his real name) hummed and danced to dancehall and reggae, and give him the name “the jamming kid”, later Jamkid. Mannen’s all about loyalty and suburban friendship that leads to disappointments. Boys often call each other “brother”, “fam”, “akhi” and so on, men who later get into the backside of the street with money, hype or drugs, they turn their backs on each other. Instead of remembering that you belong together and have shared moments and successes.

Hit that play button to deep dive into the music! You might have just found your newest playlist addition!

Mannen (Skull Edit) by PAPA Sound & Jamkid is a rhythmic, soulful and catchy afrobeat song, perfectly produced that will send you on a journey with smooth vocal melodies and catchy electronic beats in the background.

Jamkid is a dancehall-fusion and afrobeat artist from Rågsved in Sweden with roots from The Gambia. He is known for his vital live performances and extravagant style in clothing. He started his career in Rågsved alongside the collective All Green and later in about 2017 pursued onto a strong solo career and has since then gained respect and following. His name stands for “The jamming kid” which is a nickname he came up with when he was a kid listening to Bob Marley and other reggae and dancehall artists

Mannen (Skull Edit) is a successful fusion of afrobeat and soul music, with crisp brass and a clever rhythmic conversation between the chattering drum beats. The great singing of PAPA Sound & Jamkid on this track is definitely a mood changer and will get you in a dancing trance immediately when you turn it on.

Familial and unrefined, PAPA Sound & Jamkid encompasses the fundamental sounds of African heritage in their music. Finding one’s place within a diaspora in connection to the Motherland can be an integral part of exploring afro-beats and world music in hip-hop. This is certainly true of Mannen (Skull Edit). You’ll be melodically transmuted to a place of music, culture, and afro-bliss.
