Modern Soulful Music Awards: What story/emotional narrative does your music tell?:
Kristina Murrell: My song “Drug of Choice” is about pure love addiction. Being completely in love with a person to the point that the feeling you get when you are around them becomes addictive and you can’t wait to see them again!
MSM: How does your music bring inspiration to the soul?
Kristina Murrell: My music touches on relationships and love stories. When we create we want the listener to feel connected to the story. Most people after a certain age have had some sort of relationship and know the feeling of new love and or heartbreak and we try to hit every emotion in between.
MSM: Who inspires you? Who are your role models?
Kristina Murrell: I am originally from Bridgetown, Barbados. I grew up listening to Rhianna. She was the first superstar from our island. I was around 8 years old watching her on tv dreaming of being like her.
MSM: Why do you want to be an award-winning Modern Soulful Musician?
Kristina Murrell: Music is my passion and there’s nothing else I want to do. I cherish the opportunity to be recognized for my gift and passion. It would mean the world to me!
