Modern Soulful Music Awards (MSM:) What story/emotional narrative does your music tell?
Matt Poyle (MP:) I always like to write music from the heart. “Always be mom to me” showcases the emotions I felt after the loss of my mother. Everyone was telling stories of the impact she had on their lives, and she will always be mom to me
MSM: How does your music bring inspiration to the soul?
MP: I’ve been told that my music brings inspiration to the soul because it puts words and instrumentation to something we all feel, love for our moms.
MSM: Who inspires you? Who are your role models?
MP: I am inspired by anyone that follows their passions, in any area.
MSM: Why do you want to be an award-winning Modern Soulful Musician?
MP: I would love to be an award-winning Modern Soulful Musician because it will inspire other musicians and students that I work with, and show them that anything is possible
