#NewMusic Dorthea introducing brand new album, “The Soul HealHer: Rebirth”

Goddess Dorthea is back on the scene with her pure, unadulterated blend of hip-hop and R&B. The artist has a unique vocal delivery, which is uniquely spontaneous and dynamic, combining some memorable beats with the singer’s stunning vocal chops.

What’s really striking about this new release is definitely the fact that Goddess Dorthea arguably went above and beyond to make sure that every single aspect of the project was tailored to perfection. As a result, “The Soul HealHer: Rebirth” is a forward, punchy and catchy album that jumps out of the speakers, with a massive attitude and a unique vibe. The special thing about it is that it feels so natural and spontaneous and the different elements appear to fit in so very seamlessly.

The album opens with Better All One, a perfect introduction, going for a more melodic feel. The electronic drum sounds are really amazing, and in addition to that, the melodies really shine, perfectly surrounding Goddess Dorthea’s vocal chops. The second song, “Start Over” opens with a very inspirational spoken word segment over the sound of a beating heart, and it later morphs into a fantastic arrangement with a Dancehall vibe. The third song, “Found My Light” is just as dynamic and emotionally powerful, going for a very insightful motivational feel. The song is more than music: it’s poetry and pure free flow! The fourth track, “Healing My Shadows” is yet another example of using music to better oneself and channel the best energy to keep going forward in spite of all the struggles we might go through. The fifth song, “My Reflection” continues the journey of personal discovery and introspection, while “Came Too Far” is all about finding the strength to keep going because at the end of the day, it’s all worth it if the end goal is to pursue happiness and fulfillment! The seventh song, which loaned the album its title, is one of the most iconic tracks on this composition, with a perfectly catchy hook and a soothing mood. Last, but not least, the album closes with Soul Sister Love, a collaboration with Livia.

Throughout the album, Goddess Dorthea’s charismatic lyrical flow is nothing short of impeccable and she knows how to reach out to the audience with her seamless creativity and witty songwriting. Any true fan of Dancehall, Afro-Beat, and more will absolutely connect with the magnetic, electrifying nature of this release. Exclusive Interview with Nagoyaka

Modern Soulful Music: What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?

Nagoyaka: I love making music that’s all…

What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?

Nagoyaka: In almost every track I try to combine incompatible instruments and sounds, and at the same time, my tracks still sound lo-fi and chill. When everyone is using a regular piano or guitar, I try to add some synths and unusual sounds that no one has heard

If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?

Nagoyaka: Definitely L.Dre and Toonorth. I love their music. It was after hearing Toonorth’s music I decided to start making music by myself, and the video of L.Dre on YouTube inspired me to continue doing this work

What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?

Nagoyaka: The advantage is that I have complete freedom. I myself decide how and when to release releases, how to promote, and so on. And this is also the disadvantage

Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?

Nagoyaka: I really don’t know yet, I’m an independent artist now, but if they offer me to sign a label who knows, maybe I’ll agree, I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?

Nagoyaka: Inner space! I think this is still one of my best tracks. In it, I put low-fidelity hip-hop into space. I love the synth sound on this track. Very cosmic chilly and sleepy

Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?

Nagoyaka: In a studio. I don’t really like performing on stage, I get a lot of stress during performances, and I also have a fear of the crowd. So only in the studio

What would you consider the most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?

Nagoyaka: One of my tracks was noticed by a channel on YouTube with a million subscribers! They wanted to add my song to their selections and playlists. And of course, I agreed

What inspires you the most about the music industry these days?

Nagoyaka: People. Especially the success of other people. Many are jealous, but I am inspired by this and tell myself that I can do the same.

If you weren’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?

Nagoyaka: I don’t know, I probably would have been drawing…

#ArtistSpotlight: Who is the producer “ESSAM Sami?”

If you could imagine your emotions transmuted from a feeling to a sound, what would it sound like? ESSAM Sami is the producer of emotions. Check out this Lo-fi chill conscious hip-hip vibe “The City Waits For You” on Youtube now:

Artist Spotlight: ESSAM Sami

What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?

ESSAM Sami (ES:) I always had a great passion for music. Other than that the Covid pandemic turned me into a producer.

What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?

ES: Actually, I don’t understand much about music genres. But I always try to produce some good music. I try to tell a story through my music about my surroundings.

If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?

ES: For me, It’s just a beginning. But I am highly passionate about collabbing with Marshmello. His music really inspires me to start a fresh day all the time.

What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?

ES: Being an Indie Artist is great fun. You live your own life. Make whatever you want, release whenever you want. But some people tell you a lot to quit – that’s the disadvantage.

Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?

ES: From the perspective of our country, you really need to sign to a label to become successful. But I prefer being an independent artist.

Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your Best song and why?

ES: Out of all, My track “DREAMS” is my top favorite. Cause It was inspired by the reason “why I started my music career.”

Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?

ES: Being in the studio is more enjoyable for me. People don’t see you doing ultra psycho things there.

What would you consider the most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?

ES: Till now, getting recognized through your blog is the most successful moment. But I feel proud when I see my friends being happy about me.

What inspires you the most about the music industry these days?

ES: Watching new artists coming from nowhere and growing from nothing.

If you weren’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?

ES: Maybe I would be a poet or writer? Or maybe an Engineer in the future? I sure hope so.

#NewMusic Check Out the powerful story-telling in “Bloodline” by Sam Tompkins

The Brighton-raised vocalist, Sam Tompkins, who is also Justin Bieber’s “favorite new artist”, delivers a heart-warming performance in this story-telling indie R&B masterpiece. The slow and steady chord progression gives a nice build-up to beautiful vocals and harmonic rhythm. Sam’s voice sounds like pure heaven, which is a trip you’ll surely be made by the end of his song. The guitar riffs bounce off of his melodic voice as the drum breaks.

It’s so beautifully produced that every word and melody flows effortlessly. This song sounds like the tale of collateral beauty – the experience of losing a loved one but finding so much beauty in the experience of remembering their presence. As the song builds up, you’ll soon realize that Sam is telling a story about losing someone who has left a legacy – through their own bloodline.  Sam says “Bloodline is a reminder that no matter how far our loved ones go, they are always still with us wherever we go.” This is a divine message of love, loss, and reconnection through spirit. Bloodline is a story of letting go and understanding that true love continues to live on – even if it’s just through your bloodline.

After spending quality time listening, you’ll find yourself holding back tears – overwhelmed with every emotion by the tone and the delivery of heartfelt lyrics from Sam’s voice.

Don’t miss this heavenly track by Sun Francisco “Don’t pause.”

The Husband & Wife Duo “Sun Francisco” just dropped their smooth single “Don’t Pause” and it is completely heartwarming.

The group Sun Francisco hails out of Lithuania, consisting of the wife Giedre and her husband & beatmaker Max. Their song “Don’t Pause” is the third single off the upcoming debut album.

It has an up-tempo beat but still gives a laid-back chill vibe. Lyrically, the song serves as a hymn to the music itself. Gierdre croons “Heaven is alive. The earth is spinning. You are the end and the beginning.” Which resembles the feeling of finding a supernatural kind of love – and in this case, it’s music. A soulful track with a gospel message in the divine love of unworldly things, the sweet harmonies will melt you to the core.

“Sweet harmony. Open up the heaven’s for me.”

Sun Francisco

The smooth indie, electro, and dream pop R&B track add dimensions to the diverse sounds of Sun Francisco’s output so far. Check out this modern soulful songstress new single “Boomerang” by Cooper Phillip

With Cooper Phillip’s beautiful voice, you will be completely stunned by her harmonic and melodic vocal arrangements in “BOOMERANG.” She has a polished voice with an emotional and soulful vibe.  There’s a rich soulful texture to her vocals that really captivates you. We are pleased to introduce you to her internationally praised talents on this track.

“Boomerang” is an alternative adult contemporary track that has the mood of a modern r&b song. The drum breaks in this song are strong and steady,  beating to the sound of a broken heart. The song feels like an emotional rollercoaster, followed by waterfall lyrics of tears, as one is pleading to a lover, to tell the truth, and admit this is the end.

Cooper mentions how it’s late at night, yet even in privilege, she is still heartbroken from the love of her past. Her heartache can be felt with every word. It feels like you are in this deeply sad place with the emotions of a heartbroken hopeless romantic. The harmonic rhythms of the beat and her accompanying melodic perfect pitches put you in an emotional trance. As you picture her in bed, late at night, talking to herself about how love, heartache, and letting go is all a part of life – you’ll find some inspiration and romantic relief in her lyrics too.

“People Come and Go. That’s what hurt the most. I still let them get close.” Cooper inspires us to keep loving, despite the emotional roller coaster of life. Honestly, we all have to let go of something or someone someday because everything changes and nothing stays the same – and it will hurt…but it will be okay. Life is a boomerang, just enjoy it all until the game ends.
