Derrick who everyone knows as Official lived a normal life but it was clear that he was destined for greatness.

Official (O:) I have been in love with music all my life it was my escape from a world I didn’t fit in. So one day in a car in Atlanta I rapped all the words to the songs on the Radio but putting my words over it and my friends told me I need to rap so I did and I love pushing hip hop to Another level and making my own Lane
MSM: What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?
O: My music is about life true life the ups and down the light and darkness. So it’s easy to find yourself in a song 0r all lol
MSM: If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?
O: J Cole and Drake
MSM: What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?
O: My biggest advantage is that I am making a new wave of music so I can go wrong because I’m the architect of my own making. My biggest disadvantage is pushing my music past all the ones that like music the way it is and hate to see it grow away from trap music
MSM: Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?
O: I am ok with both I understand being independent can be amazing but I do know that Record labels have a strangle hole on the music industry and having a good Engine behind me I can grow faster and do more if the Record deal is right
MSM: Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your best song and why?
O: That’s hard to say they all my baby’s lol but if I had to pick one it would be all of me off my new album Therapy. That song just speaks to me the truth and pain is so close to most it lives in your brain and heart forever after it plays
MSM: Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?
O: Both are amazing but I would have to give it to the stage just seeing the fans makes me happy
MSM: What would you consider the most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?
O: The big numbers on my last album blew my mind!
MSM: What inspires you the most about the music industry these days?
O: Seeing the bigger Artist doing live shows and seeing all the stage setups and craftsmanship that goes into making the fans happy
MSM: If you weren’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?
O: NBA that’s the path I was on before I quit to do music…
