If you’re looking for some new music to check out then you need to give I’m Not Meant To Break by Acacia Grace a listen.

Soothing and soulful vocals direct with an emotional intent and multiple layers of delicacy on Acacia Grace’s uniquely written works, the self-aware neo-soul single I’m Not Meant To Break will make you feel deeply attuned to the narrative of this track.

The clatter of the beat and the conflicting tap of the soulful “I’m Not Meant To Break” builds a vastly attainable soulful mood from the start, with a quite nostalgic vibe. Weave in these deep verses, passionately and cleanly blended, and things will gradually but steadily shift towards totally fresh realms.

I’m Not Meant To Break introduces the skillfully meandering vocal harmonies of Acacia Grace in a way that feels acquainted yet also indicative of an artist ready to pave their own way, with a likable beat that injects a level of weight and easily recognizable styling into the track.

Beautifully crafted, with a beautifully flowy-form melody than most songs, fusing that neo-soul RnB meander with a more soulful comforting structure for something that essentially delivers the best of both worlds with “I’m Not Meant To Break.”

Artist Interview

Modern Soulful Music (MSM:) What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?

Acacia Grace (AG:) I love to write music. I started writing poetry in high school and later in life, I started to write music while in the choir in Long Beach. Music is therapy and makes my heart happy.

MSM: What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?

AG: I like to fuse Neosoul with Jazz and old school. I had a curator say comment about my new single that it was a jazzy vintage sound. That is what they said about Alicia Keys when she first came out. I consider it a compliment.

MSM: If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?

AG: It would be a dream to collaborate with Bruno mars or Esperanza Spaulding. I love their originality and the funk.

MSM: What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?

AG: Being an indie artist is hard because we don’t have the backing or promo that a mainstream artist does. Also, having to work a day job and being over 40, I am not just sitting on social media posting *TikToks because I have to work. So I do not have as much exposure as the younger creatives. Also, neo-soul is a special niche that doesn’t appeal to a lot of younger audiences. The biggest advantage is that I have a good team that helps indie artists because I can’t do it alone.

MSM: Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?

AG: I would love to sign with a label because they have the ability to promote and exploit artists’ music. Branding and promotion are a big part of promotion and it would be a full-time job for an indie artist. Also, the ability to collab with other like-minded artists and be part of the collective. I would welcome the opportunity.

MSM: Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your best song and why?

AG: I think Old Time Blues is the best vocally because it is an upbeat jazzy song. I’m Not Meant to Break is very meaningful so that would be my second best.

MSM: Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?

AG: I like both equally. It’s a different expression for each. I love connecting with the audience but I also love creating and collaborating with other artists and producers.

MSM: What would you consider the most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?

AG: My most successful moment was my first airplay on mainstream FM radio and making an actual chart in the UK!

MSM: What inspires you the most about the music industry these days?

AG: We still have a new era of soul singers and people are still interested in it.

MSM: If you weren’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?

AG: Working for the FBI 😉
