Artist Interview

Modern Soulful Music: What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?

Don Pasquale Ferone (DPF:) My passion for guitar that I learned as a self-taught person when I was 15 years old… Music, especially Christian and Gospel music, is my favorite hobby.

What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?

DPF: I don’t think I can distinguish myself from others, but I hope that my Christian music can help many people to rediscover the beauty of music and the Gospel proclamation.

If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?

DPF: There are many, but surely Ziza Fernandes, Don Moen, Hillsong, and others…

What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage of being an Indie artist?

DPF: The advantage of being an indie artist for me means having more freedom in expressing myself but the disadvantage is not having the proper means for recordings and technical support from the insiders.

Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?

DPF: I like to continue as an Indie artist but I would definitely not refuse to sign for a major.

Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your best song and why?

DPF: There are different ones, but I would choose Fidelity and Perseverance; the first inspires me and charges me more from an instrumental point of view because it is very charged with emotions and then the text also speaks of fidelity as an important and necessary value to achieve some things; The second, Perseverance, is a very rhythmic unplugged song that I like so much for its rhythm, but of course, there are others too…

Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?

DPF: I certainly like the creation in the studio but I would also not mind a good live on stage, perhaps with other Christian music artists.

What would you consider the most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?

DPF: The best time is when you know that your songs are being heard and shared for the cause of evangelization.

What inspires you the most about the music industry these days?

DPF: The fact that your songs can be easily and quickly shared, listened to, and learned; certainly, more room should be left for indie artists.

If you weren’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?

DPF: What I already am, that is, the priest. I do it by vocation and to help so many people who are in need.

This is our absolute favorite thing to say. If you’ve read any of the blogs we publish, you’d know we put out this message. Connect with Don Pasquale Ferone. More music will certainly be in their future! We are as excited to keep you in the loop on future projects!

Listen here. Nyah Lavina shares new single #NewMusic

You have to check out this No Wings by Nyah Lavina and add it to your playlists!

Hit that play button to deep dive into the music! You might have just found your newest playlist addition!

Little girl you know you got not wings to fly

You’ve got the weight of the world latched to you, unable to touch the sky

Nobody looks out for you

You’ve got to fight

They may not see how you shine in the daylight

But they will in the night

Nyah Lavina creates an arrangement with a lot of ebbs and flow, much like the action of waves lapping on a beach, which is quite beautiful, thanks to the extensive use of reverb and delay. As a result, there is a sense of sumptuous richness throughout.

Nyah Lavina is a real life dreamer. She has had her mind set on being a singer from the age of 4. When she was little, she loved to put on performances, whether it was on an elementary & high school stage or in the middle of her living room. She even had her first recording studio session for her 10th birthday. At 16 years old, she took a leap of faith and tried out for America’s Got Talent by singing one of her original songs while playing the piano. Music has always been a part of her journey from a young age up to who she is today. Her music resonates with the passion and love for what she does.

As a result of the overall mood shift of No Wings, the audience’s spirits are lifted as a result. It is only a brief moment, but the swagger and empowerment of the lyrical passages are swiftly restored, and we begin to connect with the bold and beautiful undertones that run throughout this song.

“No Wings” sheds new light on the artist, striking a chord with spectators because of its transparency, fragility, purity, and the powerful artistic thread that runs through the work. Perfect for a night out in the city and my personal favorite from the Nyah Lavina line.
Smooth tone, gentle vibrato, attractive octave range, and a consistent flowy soulful RnB instrumental make Nyah Lavina “No Wings,” a Contemporary / RnB masterpiece that also offers a diverse production to keep things soulful, vulnerable, and emotional.

“No Wings” is something different coming from Nyah Lavina corner, fusing together a catchy soundscape with theatrical story-telling origins and a blissfully soulful RnB vocal – the result is something that feels like rhyme and ultimately paves the way for a more creative, sensitive, and immersive RnB realm of tomorrow.

The effect of “No Wings” is to draw the listener’s attention to the soft and soulful rhythm and…of course, Nyah Lavina’s vocals in the background. Or, more precisely, the intimacy of the lyrics — there’s a wide range of them on display.

Otis Fonde is a rapper, lyricist and musical composer who has been igniting the Rap scene for a while now.
